Begbie at the Buttermarket Birmingham
17 April 2010
At the invitation of Lee Benson of Number Nine the Gallery, Birmingham, David Begbie
has a solo show at the Buttermarket in Birmingham. Situated at the heart of the vibrant Brindleyplace, the Buttermarket faces directly into the bustling social square where more than four thousand people work for BT, Lloyds TSB, Vodafone, BRMB and Scottish Equitable to name but a few... Brindleyplace is nestled in an area of restaurants, bars, hotels in Birmingham's revitalised canal district and is just a stone's throw away from the International Convention Centre, Symphony Hall and Indoor Arena.
The exhibition features some large works including Palm in an Easel which was formerly shown at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, Unuud a fun five figure piece featuring girls in gold swimsuits and Wrestlers, a rare early Begbie from 1987. There is also a range of smaller recent works. All works are for sale
