How to Buy Art
Buying art can have the stigma of being a complicated process, when in fact it can be a simple transaction.
PAYMENT
Gallery Different can accept payment by cash, cheque, money transfer and all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard American Express and Diners Club. We can also accept Euro cheques and Euro money transfers. Gallery Different has a policy that no Artwork is released until full payment for a work is received.
RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSITS
If you are seriously considering an artwork and would like to reserve the piece for a short period to allow further consideration or to arrange to view then on payment of a returnable reservation fee of £1,000 or 25% of the price of the piece (whichever is less) we will place the piece on hold for you for a period of 7 days (or longer by agreement) At the end of this period if you decide not to proceed your deposit will be refunded by the same means as the payment was made (i.e. if by credit card then refunded to the same credit card) If at the end of this period you decide to proceed with the purchase, then you just arrange payment of the balance.
RETURNS POLICY
We want you to feel confident about purchasing and to be happy with your purchase and we therefore have the following returns policy. Please read this carefully.
If you purchased via the website, sculpture unseen, then notify us within 7 days and return in original condition within 14 days for a refund. The piece must be packed in the original container and shipped prepaid and insured for full value. The refund will be in the same form as the payment (eg if by credit card then refund to same credit card) minus any shipping charges that we incur.
If you purchased from the Gallery or after viewing the piece in the gallery, notify us within 7 days and return in original condition within 14 days for a gallery credit which can be used to purchase a piece of equivalent value, or as part payment for a piece of greater value. The piece must be packed in the original container and shipped prepaid and insured for full value. You will receive a credit for the sum that you paid minus any shipping charges that we incur. If you have purchased a surprise gift, this can take the risk out of your purchase.
INTEREST FREE INSTALMENTS
We can assist with spreading the cost of your purchase. A deposit is payable of £1,000 or 25% of the price of the piece whichever is less. The balance can then be spread over a maximum of 18 months with a minimum monthly payment of £300. There is no interest payable, but the Gallery Different policy on release of the work applies, so that the piece will not be delivered until the last instalment has been paid. The advantage is that you are able to secure the piece that you want, whilst maintaining manageable payments. Both the deposit and the instalments can be paid by any of our accepted payment methods, though we welcome either standing order payments, or instructions to debit your credit card monthly.
WEDDING GIFT SERVICE
If you are interested in acquiring a piece of art as a wedding present towards which your family and friends can contribute, we can offer a hassle free service. You simply select the piece that you would like, pay the deposit as above (£1,000 or 25% of the price whichever is less), supply us with your guest list and leave the rest to us! We will supply you with an information card that you can include with your invitations, set up a private viewing page on this website to enable your guests to view the piece and giving all the payment information again. We will collect in the contributions and refund to you any payment which exceeds the balance payable. Your guests can use any of the payment methods above and will receive receipts for payments made.
