Outdoor Works in 2008

04 December 2008

When Begbie sculptures are placed outdoors, the transparency and reflective properties of the mesh combined with the ever shifting light conditions produce dynamic and continuously changing imagery.  The form can be highlighted as the sunlight falls across the mesh, and at other times the sculpture becomes almost transparent and has a mysterious and ghostly presence.

Hannah Peschar has exhibited two Begbie angels in her Surrey Sculpture garden during the 2008 season and Peter de Sausmarez of Artparks International,
Guernsey showed “Raptu”, a classical female torso with drape.

In 2009 David will again exhibit at both venues and has also been selected to participate in the Fitzwilliam Museum Sculpture Promenade sited on the front lawns of the Cambridge museum. This outdoor exhibition will run from April 2009 to January 2010.
